Axentia & Gaia partner up for unique management of infotainment and real-time information at bus stops and on buses
Gaia and Axentia are joining forces to create a unique management of real-time information and infotainment for both bus stops and vehicles. Together, they aim to simplify the process for passengers to receive accurate information at all times, whether on the move or waiting for their next bus. Through Axentia’s recently won tender for real-time information displays at bus stops in the county of Östergötland, where Gaia’s system is already implemented, they get the opportunity to demonstrate the power of integrating their solutions.
Relevant and accurate information to the travelers wherever they are
Passengers have a simple but important need: relevant and accurate information that is easy to access whether they are on the bus, waiting at a stop, or planning their journey. However, the reality behind providing this information is often complicated. In most cases, many different IT systems are not synchronized and there is a high threshold for everyone who works with, and is responsible for, providing the right information to the traveler.
That is where Axentia and Gaia come in. They specialize in passenger information for stops and vehicles and are now working to integrate their systems into a single platform. This effort is to ensure the quality of the information and simplify the process of managing content.
Linking information to specific areas or bus stops
Axentia’s display system, iBus, already supports content management. With the new version, it will be able to deliver infotainment content to its own bus stop displays as well as bus screens that are using Gaia’s vehicle platform. The system will support video, animations, and static images. A highly anticipated feature is the ability to link information to a geographical area, a route, or a bus stop – with the system managing the distribution and display on vehicles and stops linked to the specified location.
Axentia’s displays soon to be installed in Östergötland
Axentia’s CEO, Dick Ollas, shares some exciting news. They recently won the tender for digital bus stop displays in Östergötland, where Gaia’s platform is already being used on buses.
“Here, we have a great opportunity to showcase the strength of integrating our solutions.”
A unique solution for distributing information to both vehicles and bus stops
Gaia’s platform for real-time information, Gaia Public Transport, simultaneously provides both vehicles and bus stops with accurate arrival times, connecting transports, and updated information on traffic events and disturbances.
Johan Lindén, CEO of Gaia, mentions that the combination of information management for vehicles and stops is unique.
“We haven’t seen any other provider that can offer a similar solution.”
